Ranveer Singh’s action-packed spy thriller Dhurandhar continues its historic box office run even as its pace begins to slow slightly in its fourth week. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has officially entered the elite ₹1000-crore club worldwide and is now racing towards the lifetime collections of some of Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters, including Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD.
Dhurandhar Crosses ₹1000 Crore Worldwide
According to Jio Studios, the makers of Dhurandhar, the film crossed the ₹1000-crore mark globally on Thursday. However, trade analysts suggest the milestone was actually achieved on Friday. Regardless of the exact date, the achievement places Dhurandhar among a very exclusive list.
The film has now become the ninth highest-grossing Indian film of all time and only the fourth Bollywood film to reach the ₹1000-crore benchmark. Notably, it is also the only Bollywood film in the club without a Khan in the lead, making the feat even more significant for Ranveer Singh.
Record-Breaking Domestic Performance
By Friday night, Dhurandhar had collected approximately ₹648.5 crore net in India, translating to around ₹778 crore gross domestically. With this, the film has overtaken Jawan (₹640 crore net) to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film ever at the Indian box office.
Strong Overseas Run Boosts Global Numbers
The film’s overseas performance has gathered momentum over the last two weeks. In just 22 days, Dhurandhar has earned over $25 million internationally, pushing its worldwide total to ₹1003 crore based on trade estimates. The producers, however, claim the global figure is closer to ₹1020 crore.
Closing In on Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD
If current trends continue, Dhurandhar is expected to surpass the lifetime collections of Kalki 2898 AD (₹1042 crore) and Pathaan (₹1056 crore) by Sunday. This would make it the seventh highest-grossing Indian film ever.
The next target on its radar is Jawan (₹1160 crore). While crossing that mark appears achievable, overtaking KGF: Chapter 2 and RRR, both of which earned over ₹1200 crore worldwide, may prove challenging before the end of its theatrical run.
About the Film
Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh as Hamza, an Indian intelligence operative who infiltrates terror networks operating out of Karachi. The high-octane spy thriller also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has been praised for its scale, performances, and action sequences. A sequel, Dhurandhar Part 2, is scheduled for release in March 2026.
